Weekly Challenge

Hey Everyone! I'm starting a new challenge every week. The winners will receive gifts. (Each week is different  Once we get going, and have more participants, the better the gifts will be!

Killer Breadsticks (from Our Kitchen)


Dissolve together:
1 1/2 cups very warm water
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. yeast 

Add
3 cups flour (maybe more of still too sticky to handle) 
1 1/2 tbs. salt

Knead for 3 minutes 
Let rest, covered for 10 minutes. 
Roll out into greased cookie sheet, and cut with pizza cutter in strips. 

Melt 1/4 - 1/2 cup butter. Add Parmesan, garlic, & spices. Brush into breadstick with a pastry brush. ( these are also yummy with cinnamon& sugar sprinkled on top instead of garlic!) 

Let rise 30-40 minutes. Bake 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes. 
(Makes 1 cookie sheet-around 1 dozen long bread sticks.) 

German Pancakes


6 eggs (farm fresh eggs make it rise a bit higher) 
1 cup flour 
2 cup milk 
Dash of salt

Put ingredients in a bowl and beat well with a whisk. Preheat oven to 475 and melt 4 tablespoons of butter in a 9 by 13 inch pan using the heated oven. (Move rack to middle of oven.) when butter is melted, tip pan to coat the entire bottom. Pour batter into middle of pan and bake for 20 minutes or until brown. Pancake will rise up the sides of the pan. Slice or tear pancake into serving size pieces and serve with syrup, powdered sugar, fruit, or pie filling. Once pancake serves 3-4 people.
